A submission to SCI 2005, by David Mazières and Eddie Kohler.

The article in just funny in itself, but the context is the acceptance by scientific conferences of random-generated papers. A random paper generator and some info on this conferences, here.

Multichannel JackOSX Bounce

Ardour is great open-source program, specially for surround oriented people. It allows configurations with any number of channels per track, which is great for ambisonics. Unfortunally it’s not possible to bouce in multichannel directly from ardour. To remedy this I made a little app to which you can route the master output of Ardour and record to a multichannel file. It’s also great to record the output of tetraproc or ambdec.

Last week I had the pleasure blasting my drones through the Acousmonium system of the GRM. The piece presented was “Tranquility of the Void”, a quite minimal sustained guitar tones piece, originally in 4 channels, which was diffused through some 30 speakers of all shapes and sizes.
